All Mixed Up (Mixed Reality Poster Design)
Winner of: TDC Communication Design Competition Communication Arts Typography Competition GD USA 2017 American Graphic Design Awards As a designer observing the trends of emergent technology, I was interested in exploring mixed reality and its convergence with graphic design. My research in the mixed reality field had led me to a glaring point: all of the projects I’ve come across have simply been using design as a tool for mixed reality environments. But what about mixed reality as a tool for graphic design? How could this technology change the future of graphic design? And how could we, as designers, be utilizing this tool? All Mixed Up investigates how the conventions of traditional graphic design, specifically in relation to the poster format, can evolve in this space. It attempts to address the challenges and opportunities that come with mixed reality and evaluate the potential of designing within this environment.
